Anna Maria Hall or Mrs S C Hall was an Irish author. She published stories including Sketches of Irish Character, Chronicles of a School Room, The Bucanner, Marian and many others. Some of her stories also became plays such as The French Refugee, which was preformed for 90 nights at St James Theatre. She was also a patron of various medical institutions such as the Hospital for Consumption at Brompton and the Nightingale Fund.
