Engraving of Alaric Alexander Watts, published by James Fraser after Daniel Maclise. This engraving comes from Page 320 of The Maclise Portrait Gallery of Illustrious Literary Characters with Memoirs by William Bates.
Alaric Watts was a poet and journalist. He was a contributor to the Literary Gazette and the Monthly Magazine. He was made editor Leeds Intelligencer and then later the Literary Souvenir, whih then became the owner of. He published his first volume of verse called the Poetical Sketches in 1823.
