Admiral George Rodney was a Royal Navy Officer fighting in the American War of Independence, a colonial administrator when he was givernor of Newfoundland and politician. He was MP for various places from 1751 - 1782. He succeed Admiral Francis Holburne as Rear Admiral between 1771 and 1781.
