Canister or flask form, straight-sided oval, with short cylindrical necks and pull-off domed covers, with sliding covers to the underbases, original lead linings, chased with an upper and lower rocaille frieze of shells, flowers, leaves and scrolls, on one side an armorial with a contemporary crest. Lid and neck of (a) stamped with a weevil in rectangular shield, a French import mark used before 1838 to show the silver had been admitted for sale in France.
