- Description
- Detachable rounded oval bowl, the back applied with relief figure of St Michael behind which the two-pronged fork fits. Prongs decorated at junction with stem, a cherub's head in front and a female figure which forms a finial to St Michael's canopy at the back. Stem octagonal and hinged towards bowl, in section alternately hollow and flat, th upper face modelled in the round with St George and the dragon, the sides and back with cherubs, the butt of the pick is formed by a pierced, scrolled pommel, which screws into the stem.

This extraordinary object combines a folding fork, spoon and pen. It would originally have also contained tooth and ear picks and have had a leather carrying case. The stem is decorated with tiny figures of St George and the dragon and the finial with the kneeling princess.
