Seal-top spoon. Elongated fluted baluster knop. Wessex area, possibly Sherborne, circa 1630.Hexagonal stem, pricked IS over RG on seal gilded; knop of Sherborne style casting, similar to S 261 and S 266

Seal-top spoon English Silver, later gilded, possibly Sherborne, about 1630 S269 Sir William arranged his extensive collection of early spoons in three circular shields with medals in their centres. These were among the objects he lent to the National Exhibition in Leeds in 1868.
