James, 3rd Duke of Chandos (1731-1789) OvalThe Duke wears his curled and powdered hair in a queue. He wears a frilled cravat and his coat is buttoned and frogged.The Duke held various Court appointments. Before he succeded to the title,he was MP for Winchester and for Radnorshire.This is a fine example of Charles's work and full of character.There is a pearwood frame.
