- Candelabrum, one of a pair, French c. 1785. Bronze, ormolu and white marble.Bronze figure of a female in classical drapery, simply banded loose hair, holding before her in both hands a tray on which stands an ormolu urn decorated with relief scenes of putti playing athletic games, taken from drawings by Jean-Guillaume Motte entitled "Les Jeux du Cerceau", 1785. Sprouting from the top of the urn three candle branches and a central stem terminating in three leaves, each candle branch decorated with acanthus leaves and sprays of what, circular turned candle cups and drip pans. The figure stands on an ormolu base mounted on a white marble pedestal, the canted corners decorated ormolu rams' heads, inset panels on three sides, the front panel fitted with an ormolu relief of vine garlands enclosing a ewer, above, and a small putto with a lyre riding a lion, below. The side panels fitted with simple spiral ormolu bands. At the base a band of cast ormolu moulding of stylised acanthus and triple fruits above a marble plinth.
