- Side chair of stained beech with canework panels, part of a set of six, F 22-27 with armchair F21. The back with turned baluster-shaped side supports surmounted by circular finials and stylised leaves carved on the upper blocks which hold the arched cresting rail carved with a peacock displaying between stylised acanthus leaves, the central splat containing an arched panel of woven canework between broad vertical shafts carved with single-winged eagles amidst scrolling acanthus, the bottom rail of the back also carved in a similar manner; the seat with simple frame holding woven cane panel, the front legs with projecting C-scrolls and scroll feet, the front stretcher arched and carved with an eagle, wings outstretched between acanthus scrolls; the side, central and rear stretchers of turned baluster form, the rear legs of square section and turned baluster form.Beech and cane high back. Part of set of six chairs (F22-F27) and one armchair (F21).
