Side Table in Sheraton style
Description
Side table, English, c. 1900, pine veneered with burr yew, satinwood and other decorative woods. The caracse of mahogany and pine, the semi-circular shaped top veneered with a central fan-shaped motif of shaded satinwood defined by a satinwood band from which extend twelve whole and two half harebells, the main part of the top veneered in two panels of burr yew bordered by a broad satinwood band with continuous bay leaves and berries, an outer band of walnut with holly stringing. The frieze below the top of burr yew inlaid with satinwood paterae and swags of husks tied with ribbons bordered with holly stringing. The four legs of tapered square section and small blacks towards the ends, three sides veneered in yew with satinwood anthemions and pendant husks, two curved brackets at the top of the rear legs.
