Venitian Sculpture - Panel Istrian stone, Cardinal's hat No.89
The stone depicts a Galero (Catholic Clergy's Hat) with six tassels on either side. This sort of heraldry was first used in the 16th century and would usually be in different colours to represent the different rank of clergy. These arms could be for a Monsignor, a superior general of an order or a bishop.
