Inscription on the base of the piece of stone - Propter te sustinui opprobria M. D. LXXIII - Which roughly translates as "For your sake I have endured reproaches" 1573 - This seems to come from Psalm 69:7 "For it is for your sake that I have borne reproach, that dishonour has covered my face"
