Description

A bronze statuette of St Mary the Virgin, in softly draped medieval dress with a cloak covering her head and shoulders, swept up and draped over her right arm, engraved with a figured pattern of flowers in imitation of damask, her hands clasped befor her in prayer, her face lifted up and to the left, standing on a square base upon a nineteenth century square triple base of red marble.One of a pair with C 870.Italian or Spanish, 17th centuryVery fine detailed chasing of the fabric.
