Candlestick
Description
Candlestick, one of a pair. Italian, probably 19th century. Bronze. The broad base with concave foot, flat base, decorated with cast ornament of regular acanthus leaves, satyrs' masks, laurel swags and cartouches with the six balls of the Medici family, the upper part of base with cast rim of laurel leaves, foliage and arabesques, the sticks composed of two baluster sections with cast decoration of acanthus leaves, the candle cup with cast laurel band, rams' heads and scrolls.
