Saucer, part of a set with cup, German, meissen, c. 1760. Hard paste porcelain decorated in enamel colours with gilding. The oval quatrefoil-shaped saucer with pointed and wavy rim, four curved panels of blue and black fish-scale ornament edged in gold, in the centre of the saucer a large spray of European flowers in enamel colours, to one side a long stalk with yellow flowers and leaves disguising a firing crack.
