Plate, one of an unmatched pair
Description
Plate, English, Coalport, c. 1850. Porcelain with relief moulding and decorated in enamel colours with gilding in imitation of Sevres. Wavy rim, the border in crude blue du roi, with shallow moulded relief scrolls, once gilded, three reserve panels with sprays of flowers and leaves in enamel colours between once-gilt scroll and trellis ornament (now worn away), the centre of the plate decorated in enamel colours with two birds, one carrying olive branches.
