Description
Plate 1765 Part of a tea service .Fluted- painted with dragons and flowers in the Japanese style with light blue and gilt border. ''Rich dragon pattern'' 1769 catalogue 03/06/2024: Worcester? Plate with blue and gilt decoration, and blue and red floral decoration. Number label attached. At one point this pattern was described as Old Rich Dragon Pattern with blue celeste borders but it is now described as the Jabberwocky pattern. This is because of the resemblance of the dragon like creature to the creature described in the poem, Jabberywocky, by Lewis Carroll.
