Dish: ‘Rich Dragon’ Pattern Worcester Porcelain Factory Soft-paste porcelain, about 1765 C119 Enormous quantities of Chinese and Japanese porcelain were imported into England during the eighteenth century. However, imports of Meissen and Sèvres from Europe were severely restricted. Factories such as Chelsea copied Meissen porcelain in the collections of its aristocratic clients. Other more modest factories developed their own naive but often charming chinoiseries that were quite different from those made in Germany and France.
