Description
Mr. Chapman Ball's Will & TEstament"This is the last Will and Testament of me Chapman Ball of Tewkesbury in the County of Gloucester Gentleman. Whereas about the Year one Thousand Seven hundred and fifty six I was sick and weak of a Dropsy and my Aunt Mrs Mary Ball with whom I then (and now) lived and resided refused to supply me with common Necessaries of Life and in being then unable to support myself or pay a Physician Surgeon Apothecary or Nurse I did then apply to Henry Whitaker of Tewkesbury aforesaid Gentleman for that Purpose who was so kind not only to supply me with Money to prevent my starving but also undertook to pay proper Persons to assist me in my Distress and Extremity And Whereas I am now very sick, weak and in a dangerous way labouring under great Difficulties my said Aunt Mrs. Mary Ball now refusing to assist or furnish me with common necessaries of Life I have in this my Extremity applyed to the said Henry Whitaker who has been so kind also at this time to supply me with Money and hath also undertaken to pay divers Persons to assist me in my Extremity - Which several sums of Money before and now advanced I suppose will amount to Thirty Pounds and upwards. And Whereas a legacy of eight hundred pounds was given me in and by the last Will and Testament of William Chapman late of Tewkesbury aforesaid Esquire deceased issuing and is payable out of an Estate lying in the Island of Barbados part of which said Legacy remains yet upaid and unsatisfied Now I do Hereby in the first Place direct and order and my Will and Meaning is that all the Residue and remaining part of the said Legacy of Eight Hundred Pounds And also all and Singular other my Effects Real and Personal Estate whatsoever shall be liable and subject to the Payment of all such Sums of Money as shall appear to be already or hereafter advanced and paid by the said Henry Whitaker to supply and assist me in my Distress and Extermity as aforesaid. And after Payment thereof and subject thereto as aforesaid I give devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of the said Legacy and all other my real and personal Estate whatsoever to my Dear Sister Sarah Huxley Widow her Heirs Executors Administrators and Assignes And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said Sarah Huxley and Henry Whitaker joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former ones.
