Description
The Will of Sarah Huxley, nee Ball, the sister of Frances, wife of Admiral Holburne, 1785."I Sarah Huxley of Welbeck in the Parish of St. Mary la bone do make this as my last Will and testament this 7 day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred & 85.I leave the direction of my funeral to my nephew Sir Francis Holborn Bart with the request only, to be buried with my sister Holborn at Richmond.I give all my best Cloths to be equally divided between my two Neices Jane Sheldon and Catherine Cussans - such as they think not fit for their use I desire may be given to the Maid servt that may live with me at the time of my death & a Guinea to buy a gown for mourning. I give to my nephew Sir Francis Holborn Bart the sum of 1185.16.8 which is a debt I have against Mr. Gidney Clarke Esq of Barbados. I give to my friend Mrs Mary Gibbs my half chest of draws which stands in the drawing room, & the little mahogany table in the drawing (room also the Legacy which my friend Lady....) (crossed out) & my silver Candlesticks or anything she may chuse of the furniture. I ask it as the last favor of her, to assist at my funeral.
