Elizabeth Frink (1930-1993) was a prolific printmaker. Having already mastered sculpture and drawing, printmaking and its tactile processes felt familiar to her; it is unsurprising that she soon found a natural aptitude for it. Her etchings, drawings and screenprints are widely appreciated for their vitality, wit and powerful subjects.
Frink’s original drawings for the Children of the Gods book, a volume of Greek myths by Kenneth McLeish, aroused great interest. They illustrate the tension between humour and brutality and are brimming with energy and movement.
