Description
Fan, probably Chinese for the Western market, late 1850s to early 1860s. The spread composed of black, white,maroon, and yellow feathers which are painted on both sides, very poorly, with Chinoiserie pattern of exotic birds, peonies and leaves with a border of smaller peonies,in blue, green and red with silver detail, tipped with white down,.Bone brise sticks and panache with simple pierced decoration, mother of pearl rivet head.
