Description
Fan and box, French, 1790-1800. Fan made of smooth sandalwood sticks with geometric patterned brise work. A pale turquoise ribbon unites the sticks.No tassel. Ivory inlay and pearl rivet. The box of card with blue moire cover with gilt edges and the label "Temple of Fancy, Southampton and Ryde, M.S. Venier, Jeweller and Importer of Foreign Fancy Goods " Inscribed in ink on underside of box H.3745 in blue, "Espagnole" in black.
