Fan in turquoise box, French, 1850s-1860s
Description
Fan, French, c.1850s-60s.The fan is in its own turquoise cardboard box. Brise fan of bottle green moire silk tipped with green down. Pierced bone sticks and panaches with gilt studs and brise in snowflake pattern. Sequins are randomly scattered on the moire leaf on the outside of the fan.The inside is plain moire.The gilt rivet is attached by a mother of pearl button.The tassel is of gold and green thread with random gilt strings which end with tiny bluish beads.A circlet of bluish beads surrounds the tassel top.
