Early Victorian brise fan with painted Chinese feathers with purple tips and down finish.It has bone sticks and panaches,the sticks embellished with steel diamonds and flowers.The brise is cut into a bare twig pattern.The feathers are painted with a foliate pattern and the rivet is of mother of pearl.The fan has its its original moire grey box with a cartouche of a pastoral scene enclosed within a gold leaf kidney shape.
