Veduta del Tempio di Giove Tonante (View of the Temple of Jupiter Tonans) from Vedute di Roma (Views of Rome) by Piranesi This was one of the Vedute by Piranesi and part of his Vedute di Roma (Views of Rome) series. This series took over three decades of his life and included views of the Colosseum, Arch of Titus, the Pantheon and many other monuments throughout Rome. These were particularly popular with grand tourists as souvenirs. This specific print says it depicts the Temple of Jupiter Tonans but it actually depicts the ruins of Temple of Vespasian and Titus with the pediment and frieze of one side of the Temple still standing.
